Is internal audit keeping pace with the changes in the marketplace today??
Many would say it is not. What do you think??
These are just a few of the many questions that need some answers, and we want to know what you think.
Internal audit functions globally had been continuing to slowly evolve up through 2020, albeit some more swiftly than others. For much of the world, however, the pandemic forced internal audit functions to start a radical and rapid change in how they embraced technology to do their work starting around March 2020.
Since that imposed change, internal audit has stepped up and successfully navigated the technological details of getting work done remotely because of the non-negotiable advent of 100%, or near 100%, remote working models. While the jury is still out on overall effectiveness improvements, the efficiency improvement gains by internal audit functions has been, in some instances, dramatically positive.
Yet, at the same time, the last couple of years has placed pressure on you being able to invest in internal audit competencies specifically and professional development (PD) more generally, given that many training and PD models from the likely providers still is wedded (actually or structurally) to the old ways of physical, in-person delivery of seminars and conferences.
Replicating physical delivery of content is technologically achievable, but the experience is often not the same. However, as much as we'd all like to get away and fly off to a different location for a multiday training or conference if things were as they used to be, many are questioning the economic value, as well as the risks and hassles associated with all the logistics. Conversely, sitting at your existing remote working location for 2, 3 or more days straight staring at a screen is boring and unappealing, too. That doesn't change the needs, but it does beg for better answers to the delivery models.
So, how must internal audit training and professional development evolve to meet the ever-evolving expectations and needs of progressive internal audit departments hungry for learning, growth, and continuous improvement?
Join us during one of the following dates where we will answer your questions and, more importantly, listen to your feedback on what's working, what's not working, and what needs to change in the way quality internal audit training and professional development is offered to the marketplace today. Let's answer the question:
What's the Future of Internal Audit, Training and Professional Development??
